A New Start, A Different Perspective

As the first post, I think I need to expound on why I've created this blog. I have a two year old daughter, and another on the way. I'm also a full-time dad who is quite tired of the vast array of baby products geared toward women. If you don't believe me, just search for a 'masculine' type of diaper bag. I know it took me at least three weeks of looking before I settled on a basic, black, Eddie Bauer bag. Another example...if you've had a child, you know that the magazines will start coming, the catalogs will fill your mail box and diaper coupons are on their way! I have nothing against all of these, it's just that, as a father, I occupy a strange ground that the marketing gurus seem to have forgotten, or at least don't care. The magazines only deal with 'how to find time with your child after work' or 'don't forget daddy.' They don't delve into the fact that the modern father is not the same old stereotype of a dad that the media continues to insist upon. Now that my mini-rant is over. It's time to think of some posts.

A worthy venture indeed. Nice to have another voice out there speaking for the testosterone endowed. Rock on!
